Tommy was initiated an Entered Apprentice Mason on June 9, 1970, passed to the degree of Fellow Craft on July 7, 1970, and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on September 4, 1970 all in Sun Lodge No. 6, Taipei, Taiwan, China. He was elected as the Worshipful Master of Sun Lodge in 1975-76. He was appointed Senior Grand Steward, Grand Lodge of China, in 1977 by the M.W. Grand Master Charles C.F. Yen. He has progressed through most of the chairs of the Grand Lodge line. In parallel, Tommy has been serving the Grand Lodge’s various Committees, i.e., Policy and General Purposes, Finance, Rituals, Library, Health and Welfare and Charity. He chaired the Committees of Publicity in 1980, Audit 1986-89, and Credentials 1988.

Tommy is also a member of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Taipei, Orient of Taiwan and China. He was consecrated as a Master of Royal Secret, on September 27, 1974. He was elected as Wise Master of the Taipei Chapter of Rose Croix in 1978, and the Venerable Master of Taipei Lodge of Perfection in 1981. He was decorated Knight Commander Court of Honor (KCCH) in December 1983 and was created a 33rd Degree Mason in 1989. He became a Shriner of Afifi Temple, Washington A.A.O.N.M.S. in 1974.

In early 1960, Tommy met Julia Chang and they were married on January 9, 1965, in Taipei, China. They have one daughter and one son — Grace, and David. Tommy’s hobbies are painting, tennis, photographing, and classic music — all of which he enjoys and shares with his family.
